Campus Action Plans

See how campuses are mobilizing for Census 2020

Join campuses across MN as they mobilize for Census 2020!

Faculty, students, and staff from campuses across Minnesota met at Metropolitan State University in August of 2019 for a Census 2020 Planning Institute. Over the two-day institute, participants worked to build action plans for mobilizing their campus for the upcoming census.

St. Cloud State University

St. Cloud State University is excited to have received a mini grant to be a part of the Census 2020 efforts.  We plan to educate, energize, empower, and mobilize people into action through a variety of curricular and co-curricular initiatives over the next year.  Our programming begins in September 2019 with a Constitution Day Dialogue, then moves into recruitment of students to be trained to facilitate future dialogues, as well as recruiting faculty and staff for a Community of Practice hosted by our Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning. We will collaborate with and support our Student Government and Students United to host pop-up tabling efforts around campus.  The Census efforts culminate with a large campus-community dialogue in February or March 2020.  We then plan to continue the momentum achieved through the Census 2020 initiatives, directly into our Get Out the Vote efforts on campus.  We know how important getting a complete count is for Minnesota and the nation and are committed to sharing that message and so much more with our students and campus community throughout the next year.
